After Scourie Pier was closed to the public due to its unsafe condition, we partnered with Highland Council to plan and carry out repair and restoration works.

The initial phase of the repair was to clean the structure using a high-pressure water jet. This removed all marine growth and algae that had overwhelmed the pier.

We then applied sprayed concrete to stabilise the large voids present at the pier head. This involved spraying the entire structure to full thickness and applying a “flash coat” to close the surface. This also left a pleasing, uniform finish to the structure.

To finish off the restoration before reopening to the public, the furniture and picnic area were reinstated on the pier with newly created information boards.

The restored pier now provides a safe environment for all to enjoy.
